A. ORGANISATION
1. The Conference will be run by the Commissioner, Malarky.
2. The Commissioner's role will be to:
- Organise and invite players to games.
- To ensure all entrants abide by the rules of the tournament.
- To adjudicate all rules issues that may arise.
- To maintain the scoring of the League.
3. The Commissioner will remain neutral in regard to all adjudications.
B. STRUCTURE
1. The Conference will feature 7 rounds of Diplomacy games.
2. Players may compete in any number of rounds but will need to compete in a minimum of 3 rounds to score points.
3. Regardless of how many rounds a player participates in, points will be divided by 7 to find the final score.
4. Players will need to register for the event to receive an invite. Registration will be open until Round 5.
5. The top seven players in the Conference will be invited to participate in the ODL Championship.
C. SCORING
1. A Solo victory will result in 700 pts to the winner, 0 pts to everyone else.
2. A draw will result in:
> 600 pts shared between the number of players in a draw, plus
> A bonus share of 100 pts decided by Sum of Squares scoring (see below).
3. A 7-way draw will result in 100 pts shared between players using the Sum of Squares scoring system.
D. GAMES
1. All games will be Private games, and play will be by invite only. Invites will be sent by PM on this forum.
2. All games will allow Press at all times.
3. Spring/Fall adjudications will be every other day (2 days); Spring 1901 adjudication will be 1 week; Retreat and Adjustment adjudications will be 1 day.
4. Games will start automatically when full.
5. Grace periods will be DISALLOWED.
6. Games will feature full anonymity.
7. Draws are allowed.
E. ANONYMITY
1. Within the game, players may reveal their identity. This has no impact on the game. Players may, after all, be lying.
2. Entrants are not allowed to reveal their identity on this forum or otherwise outside the game. A penalty will result.
F. ALTERNATES
1. When organising games for each round, the Commissioner will create a number of games based on the number of registered players. This will be:
(a) If there are a multiple of 7 registered players, the number of games will equal the number of players divided by 7.
(b) If the number of registered players is not a multiple of seven, if less than half a board would be formed, the Commissioner will not create an extra game, unless the number of registered players grows before the deadline for that round.
(c) If the number of registered players is not a multiple of seven, if more than half a board would be formed, the Commissioner will create an additional game which would be a Public game once the Private games were full. Unregistered players would be invited to register for the Conference.
G. PENALTIES
1. Breaking anonymity rules (see E above): loss of 50% of eventual game score, or minus 25% of player's average game score from final score, whichever is greater.
2. Seeking support about a Conference game on any platform - deregistration from the Conference.
3. The Commissioner reserves the right to deregister any player under extraordinary circumstances, at the discretion of the Commissioner.
